Simonette currently works as the Business Agent for IATSE Local 478, a studio mechanics local representing film industry workers in Louisiana, Arkansas, Southern Mississippi, and Mobile, AL. Before becoming a union rep, she spent many years wearing various hats in the Art Department.
Simonette co-produced the award-winning feature documentary "City of a Million Dreams," now available on Tubi and airing nationally on PBS. She was also one of the screenwriters and served as the production designer, curating archival images and designing the reenactment sequences.
Simonette began working in the film industry in 2012 as a sculptor and scenic artist. Her company, Scenic Art and Casting Studio, has created many specialty props and installations for film, commercials, theater, events, and private clients.
